SKIN CYCLING

Set your skincare schedule and optimise your results

The skincare trend Skin Cycling is all about alternating between active ingredients and recovery periods to optimise results and avoid over-treating the skin. This method helps you get the most out of your skincare routine while allowing the skin to strengthen itself. The term may be new, but the philosophy is far from it. For skin therapists, this is second nature – and at MARIA ÅKERBERG, we have always followed this principle.

What is Skin Cycling?

Skin Cycling is a four-day skincare routine that combines exfoliation, active ingredients and recovery to create the best possible balance for the skin – and deliver effective results.

Day 1 – Exfoliation

Removes dead skin cells, enhances natural radiance and prepares the skin for the next steps in the routine. We offer gentle yet effective options, including natural enzymes and Lactic Acid from sugar beets.

AHA & Jojoba Peeling

Day 2 – Active Treatment

This step introduces ingredients that stimulate skin renewal. Bakuchiol is an example of a powerful ingredient that provides similar benefits to retinol – without the harsh side effects.

Day 3 and 4 – Nourishment and Recovery

During these days, the skin rests and rebuilds with hydration and nourishment. Softening plant-based oils, such as Jojoba and antioxidant-rich Rosehip Seed Oil, strengthen the skin barrier and protect against external stressors.

Why Skin Cycling?

Using active ingredients too frequently can cause irritation and imbalance, sometimes leading to the opposite of what you’re trying to achieve. With a cyclical routine, the skin has time to recover, which contributes to:

• BBetter effectiveness of active ingredients

• Reduced risk of sensitivity and imbalance

• A stronger skin barrier and more resilient skin

A philosophy we have always followed

At MARIA ÅKERBERG, we have always advocated for a balanced skincare routine that nourishes the skin in harmony with its natural processes. Skin Cycling is simply a new name for a tried-and-tested approach to skincare health.
