FAQ

Practical issues about your order

All orders are to be prepaid with a credit card or with Klarna through Stripe.

Every approved and processed order generates an automatic order confirmation. It is sent to you by e-mail. The most common reason for not receiving an order confirmation is that the wrong e-mail address was stated or that the e-mail was sorted as junk mail.

As soon as your order leaves our warehouse, you will receive an e-mail with tracking information.

If you have purchased products from a reseller and have a complaint, please turn to them directly when it comes to returns, complaints or other issues with your purchase. If you have purchased products from MARIA ÅKERBERG AB, then you should turn to us directly.

If your parcel is damaged, and that your products probably are as well, do not accept delivery of the parcel. Instead, let it be returned to MARIA ÅKERBERG AB.

Which countries do we ship to?

At the moment, we are only shipping within Sweden. If you wish to purchase our products from outside of Sweden, please contact one of our resellers.

Practical issues about our products

All products from MARIA ÅKERBERG AB have a best-before-date since they do not contain preservatives. The date stated applies to unopened products. We guarantee the therapeutic effect of a product for six months after opening and within the stated best-before-date.

As a general rule, you should be able to store our products at room temperature. Just make sure they are not placed in direct sunlight, and close the containers completely after each use. The only case where we recommend refrigeration is Aloe Vera Barbadensis. This will enhance its cooling effect on sunburnt or irritated skin.

Spray pumps, for example on hair spray, can get clogged after some time of usage, causing them to stop functioning properly. But it is easily fixed. Simply unscrew the spray pump and place it in boiling hot water for a few moments. Take it out and leave it to dry, then put it back on the bottle.

No. The bottles are designed to prevent lip gloss leakage. However, be careful when you take out the applicator, so it does not end up any lip gloss on the bottle. If the bottle feels sticky, it is probably caused by carelessness with the applicator. Wipe off the bottle with a piece of paper.

Apply Aloe Vera Barbadensis to the blister and put a Band-Aid over it. Aloe Vera Barbadensis quickens the healing process and relieves irritated skin. The Band-Aid protects the exposed blister from bacteria and dirt.

In wintertime, when the temperature is low, some products may coagulate. If this happens, leave the product in room temperature until it has unfreezed. Do not shake the product!

Cold Pressed Jojoba Oil, for example, coagulates at 8 degrees Celcius. However, this does not affect the quality of the product. Let it unfreeze in room temperature for a day or so, before enjoying its lovely, golden drops again!

We always recommend keeping the tube with the lid upwards when opening Papaya Peeling. When you are to put the lid back, make sure to tighten it firmly to prevent the product from spilling out. The texture and consistency may vary over time, but the effect will remain the same.

Sometimes, the pump in our airless bottles stop working properly. To solve the problem, push up the bottom by using a potato stick or a paper clip in the small hole underneath the bottle.

When pumping an airless bottle, you push the bottom up and the cream should come out. If the bottom get stuck, the bottle will not pump up the cream as usual. By pushing up the bottom, the airless bottle should start working properly again.

It is not the small pipe in the bottle that is causing the problem, as you may think. All our airless bottles are equiped with this pipe.

Skincare products

Our balms contain several types of beneficial fats that do not penetrate as deeply into the skin as oils do. However, the essential oils in the balms are deep-penetrating, causing a purifying or regenerating effect, depending on which balm is used. As the beneficial fats in the balms stay on the skin’s surface, they protect it from cold, wind and dehydration. They also help the different skin layers interact better. Therefore, it is better to apply a balm after an oil and/or a cream, in order to optimise their effects on the underlying skin layers.

Balms are used day and/or night, depending on skin type and weather. When it is really cold, the balms protect the skin from becoming dehydrated.

Face Lotion More is recommended for individuals over 35, who are starting to get wrinkles and fine lines. This cream improves the skin’s resilience and has a firming effect. The Rose Otto in Face Lotion More has calming properties, which make the cream suitable for sensitive skin. We recommend combining it with Royal Facial Oil More, which has a smoothing effect.

Face Lotion Supplement is recommended for individuals with mature skin, in need of lustre. This is a skin that probably used to be mixed or oily, but has lost moisture with age. This cream contains pomegranate, which is rich in antioxidants, and slows down ageing. It is also firming and naturally smoothing. Since Face Lotion Supplement increases activity in the skin, it is not suitable for sensitive or oily skin. We recommend combining it with Royal Facial Oil Supplement, which has a smoothing effect.

Absolutely, Sun Lotion SPF 20 is enough protection for children. The more you apply, the more protection you will produce. Note that children under the age of three should not be exposed to the sun at all.

Face Mask Clearing, Aloe Vera Barbadensis or Calming Gel! All of them make the blisters dry out faster and give a cooling effect on the skin.

Yes! Almost all of our products contain protecting properties against blue light. To protect your skin against air pollution, you can use any cream or lotion from our range. By working with products specifically designed for the skin’s different layers, in our skincare method Deepskin Organics, you protect your skin against both air pollution and blue light.

Goat’s hair has the ability to bind powder and to release it a little at a time, when massaged into the skin. Because the Kabuki Brush is specially cut and has much more hair than our other brushes, it is better suited to use with Mineral Powder and Compact Powder, to create a more covering effect. It takes a long time to find the perfect synthetic hair to replace the goat’s hair with, because the goat’s hair is so great to use to massage products into the skin. Please note that the hair has only been cut from the goat – no one is allowed to die for the sake of our brushes.

Probioskin

Probioskin contains 4 billion lactic acid bacteria, which promote a healthy bacterial flora in the stomach and intestines. These bacteria come from the following three bacteria: Bifidobacterium lactis, Lactobacillus plantarum and Lactobacillus bulgaricus.

You rather not. Probioskin is a small tablet containing 4 billion lactic acid bacteria, promoting a healthy and balanced intestinal bacterial flora. The tablet consists of several layers of protection for the bacteria. If you crush the tablet, the protective layers disappear, causing the bacteria to die in the stomach.

Probioskin is produced using ProBion matrix technology, which ensures that the bacteria are extremely well protected, and reach the stomach and intestines in an optimal manner. This is completely unique. Survival and exposure is more than ten times better in Probioskin than in other probiotic chewable tablets or capsules, ensuring that the stomach and intestines are exposed to more live bacteria during a longer period.

Yes, you will find the relevant research on probion.eu under Research.

Probioskin has no age limit.

Ingredients

Mineral oil is another word for crude oil, which is the oil that we pump out of the earth to make petrol and diesel, among other things. When the oil companies produce them, there are by-products that can not be used as fuel. Instead, they are used in many cosmetic products.

These by-products may have different names in the ingredient lists of skincare products and makeup. Below are some of them:

Ozokerit (ingår till exempel ofta i mascara)
Polyisobutene (ingår till exempel ofta i läppglans)
Mineralolja
Petrolatum
Paraffinum liquidum
Vaselin
Paraffin
Petroleum
Paraffinum
E 905

As mineral oil contains no fatty acids, only hydrocarbon, it inhibits the skin’s natural moisturisation. This is why you can become addicted to many kinds of lip balm, requiring you to reapply constantly. The sneaky part with mineral oil is that it seems to work initially, but in reality, it supplies no nutrients to the skin, thus providing no positive long-term results.

Most of them! Our only non-vegan ingredients are Honey and Beeswax. Honey is used only in three of our products: Aroma Bath Orange & and Baby Bath. Beeswax is used in most of our creams, balms and makeup products, such as Face Balm, Hand Cream, Baby Care, Lip Care, Foundation, Lip Gloss et cetera. When it comes to other types of material, we use goat’s hair in our Kabuki Brush. All other brushes are made of high-quality synthetic bristle.

You can also read the ingredient list on the product. There, Honey is called Mel. There are two different types of Beeswax. Cera Alba is white beeswax, which has had the pollen removed, while Cera Flava (Beeswax) is yellow Beeswax, which contains pollen. Both are sourced from Swedish bee farms.

Our products and ingredients have not been tested on animals, and they are all GMO-free. Of course, they are also organic.

We use Glycerin from Rapeseed Oil, never from offal.

The depth depends on your own pigments, therefore varying from person to person. In Tan In A Tube, we use Dihydroxyacetone (DHA), which is derived from fructose. The substance reacts with the oxygen in the air and proteins in the skin’s upperlayers. The process is the same as if you peel an apple and then leave it be.

Yes, of course. We have strict codes of conduct for our suppliers to conform to. We continuously ensure that they are complied with. Any divergence would result in actions taken.

We are working with the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact. Principle number five is about the effective abolition of child labour. We have guarantees from all suppliers that child labour does not exist. If an occurrence of child labour is identified, we would immediately terminate the agreement with that supplier.
